However, she didn't achieve much success at the beginning and faced a number of obstacles before receiving her first break. Her record label had to place a large portion of her songs in limbo before she was signed by "Capitol Records. She was now professional and has never stopped ever since. The album that followed, 'Teenage Dreams' was an instant hit among music lovers as well as one of the most popular albums of all time. It created many records and established Katy Perry's status as an established artist. Apart from writing and recording songs, Perry is also known as a philanthropist. Perry is an activist that promotes the rights of gays.
